Champagne For Your Wedding?

Weddings are all about celebrating with your loved ones and no other tipple says this more than Champagne! There is so much more flexibility nowadays with many venues giving you the option to supply your own drinks. Even with a corkage fee this can still be a more cost-effective option and allow you to taste something extra special, like Champagne, for a fraction of the price.

I’ve just returned from the Champagne region in France and I’m now wishing I had made this journey before my wedding! With only a 3 hour drive from Calais this trip is doable in 2 days, a long weekend or an extended trip to take your time and travel around the entire region.

If you’re planning on supplying your wedding Champagne or just interested in travelling to France and visiting the area, we have some must-see places to add to your list…

Charles Mignon7 Rue Irène Joliot Curie, 51200 Épernay, France

Our_cellars

This was a great find to combine a cellar tour and tasting. You’ll be guided through the history of the House and Champagne, visit the cellars, vat room and learn all about the process as well as interesting facts about Champagne.

All this for an incredibly reasonable price too with a tour & tasting for only €12!

Blondel – Domaine des Monts Fournois , BP 12, 51500 Ludes France

We received a lovely warm welcoming when visiting Blondel. Not only is their Champagne amazing but as you step down into a hidden cellar gem you will find wonderful memorabilia and a small bottling production line.

Sadly this family-run Champagne House will be closing at the end of the year however you will still be able to visit and purchase Champagne. Plus with the incredible weather there has been across Europe this summer, it has been announced that 2018 will be a vintage year so I know I’ll be visiting Blondel in 4 or 5 years to bring back something special from their last ever production!

G. Tribaut – 88 Rue d’Eguisheim, 51160 Hautvillers, France

G. Tribaut is situated in the village of Hautvillers, 6km from Epernay, with one of the most beautiful picturesque views I’ve ever seen.

G.Tridaut View

A panoramic shot was the only way to try and give this view justice!

The champagne….

Champagne-Tribaut-Slide-3

A tasting in this truly memorable location cost €10 for three flutes, however if you purchase a minimum of six bottles this cost is waived.

Au 36 – 36 Rue Domaine Pérignon, 51160 Hautvillers, France

Also located in Hautvillers is this lovely restaurant, Au 36, situated on the famous Rue Domaine Pérignon. They have a x3 glass Champagne flight and INCREDIBLE taster menu to enjoy alongside and soak up the bubbles!

Bouché-Machuré Brut is a deliciously crisp Champagne at an amazing price of €13.80 per bottle if purchase a minimum of six bottles. The owner is proud to maintain smaller production runs year on year so you know the quality is of importance to this Champagne House.

So with such finesse at a very reasonable price this is a great one to visit if thinking about your wedding Champagne!

Top Tips For Wedding Dress Shopping

Picture1

If you are shopping for a wedding dress for your special day, there are many important factors to consider before choosing the dress that is right for you. Many brides will often see the “perfect dress” right after they have already purchased what they thought was the perfect dress and instantly have buyer’s remorse. To avoid choosing the wrong dress, or a dress that is wrong for you, keep reading as we are going to share some helpful tips on how you can make your wedding dress shopping experience a better one.

Here Are Our Tips For Wedding Dress Shopping…

Know How Much You Want To Spend

Going overbudget on your wedding dress can mean sacrificing other aspects of your wedding. While you want to find the perfect dress for your special day, it shouldn’t cost you a fortune. Knowing how much you want to spend before shopping for a wedding dress will help you stay on budget.

Shop Early

Many brides will wait until last minute to purchase certain items for their wedding but the dress should never be one of them. Shop early, at least eight months before your special day, to ensure that you get the dress you want and that there is time for any alterations that might be needed.

Decide What You Like

This is important because your own personal style dictates the type of dress you will look good in. You also want to ensure that the type of dress you choose matches the theme of your wedding. Something elegant with a long train would not be a good choice for a beachfront wedding just as a modern, Avant Garde dress won’t look right if the rest of your wedding is traditional. Grab some wedding dress look books and keep them with you wherever you go so you will always have them to look at and decide upon.

Picture2

Make Appointments

You want to schedule your fitting as soon as you know which dress you want and that means calling ahead to ensure that the bridal salon has the dress you want in stock and in your size. This is important as many dresses are pre-order only and this can affect your choice in dresses.

Accessorise Your Look

Chances are, you already have your wedding accessories. If so, bring them along when trying on dresses so you can get a feel for what you will look like as you walk down the aisle. Sometimes, your accessories won’t match your dress or vice versa and you will have to decide which you like better.

Listen To The Experts

We have all been to weddings where we are left wondering just what the bride was thinking when she chose her dress. While the choice of wedding dress is ultimately up to you, listen to the experts at the bridal salon. They have fitted thousands of women for wedding dresses and they know what looks good and what doesn’t. They might even help you find a dress that you didn’t know existed or that you didn’t think you would look good in.

Festival-Inspired Wedding Ideas

If you’re a couple who love festivals or maybe you even met at one and want to bring a little festive touch and carnival spirit to your big day then this is the blog for you!

One of the best festival experiences is enjoying time in the open air whilst listening to your favourite artists perform live.

Make the most of the outdoor space at your wedding by using trees to suspend colourful decorations.

These ideas are cost effective, easy to create and will bring your festival atmosphere to life.

Is your wedding in a garden or field? Create cosy areas where your guests can relax. As the evening closes in, it will also make a lovely space for guests to chill out (or even pass out!)

Festivals are all about dressing up! Below is a snap of ‘The Ambling Band’ from the South West who bring fun, colour and dance music. Find a band you love that will add carnival vibes to your day!

Encourage your guests to also dress up with a handcrafted photo booth that is great for your budget and provides enjoyable entertainment.

Think festival hair…think flowers, and I just love this sophisticated take on an up-do with an oversized single flower. So eye-catching & elegant!

Glitter and festivals go together like Mr & Mrs!

Why not add some sparkle to your wedding planning with PaperLove inc. wedding stationery…

No festival would be complete without face paint! Speaking from experience this will go down a treat with your guests and make amazing photos which I think is an essential addition at around £150 for the entire evening.

And finally… FESTIVAL LIGHTS! Not much creates a better atmosphere than perfect lighting…….

Decorative light-up alphabet letters have festival written all over them! There are many prop hire companies out there now and you can expect to pay around £60 per character.

Felicity and Arron-796

Tea light lanterns are easily available, inexpensive and perfect for a festival inspired ambience.

If your venue will permit sparklers they will add the most magical touch to your festival-inspired day.

Why not make your first exit and journey together as husband and wife down a path lined with your guests!

Felicity and Arron-807

I hope you feel inspired and excited to create and come up with your own special festival wedding design. Whether it be bursting with festival delights or a few subtle hints, there are so many wonderful ideas to make your wedding unique and memorable.

Seasonal Wedding Flowers

Choosing wedding flowers that work with your stye and colour palette is essential to creating the perfect ambience for your special day.

With so many flowers available, a great way to narrow down your options, keep costs to a minimum and easily complement the time of year your wedding is taking place is to choose seasonal flowers.

Although your florist will be able to assist in showing you seasonal flowers, a good tip to help you prepare before your meeting is to gather inspiration on bouquets, centrepieces, buttonholes plus the colours of your wedding if this is already decided. This will really help them better understand your style and make the process a lot easier for you.

If you are unsure which flowers are in season around the time of your wedding, below we have picked out a few of our favourites which we hope you like too!

Alongside each season, we have selected PaperLove inc. wedding stationery suites to complement. Browse our full collections at:
